Aditya Dhar is currently riding high on the phenomenal success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026), a film that has not only dominated the box office but also cemented his position as one of the most in-demand directors in the country. The Dhurandhar franchise created history by becoming the first Indian franchise to have both installments cross ₹1000 Cr gross worldwide, with the sequel emerging as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
Aditya Dhar Skips Allu Arjun Project
In the wake of this massive success, reports began circulating that Aditya Dhar was in talks with Allu Arjun for a big-ticket pan-India project. Industry buzz suggested that the ‘Icon Star’ was keen on collaborating with Dhar, given his current golden run and ability to deliver large-scale commercial entertainers. However, with Dhurandhar 3 reportedly in development, the director appears to have chosen a different path.
Fresh Collaboration with Ranveer Singh
In a surprising development, Aditya Dhar has chosen to reunite with Ranveer Singh once again. Interestingly, this project will not be a continuation of the Dhurandhar franchise, as many had speculated, but a completely fresh script. The film is expected to go on floors in March 2027, with pre-production and writing work already progressing at a brisk pace.
The Dhar-Singh combination delivered back-to-back blockbusters with the Dhurandhar franchise, which also crossed $50M in North America within just three months. With this reunion on a new story, expectations are naturally high as the duo looks to deliver yet another major box-office success.
